Want to be a correspondent for the SVB?
Have you ever taken IED and built a really interesting, viable project with some other students only to see it fold up at the end of the semester?
Have you ever wondered why so many students seem so interested in their own individual fields of study but fail to see the ways in which their work could be applied to other fields?
Do you have an interest in meeting tons of interesting people and finding out how to start a business as a student or join one that has already been started by other students?
If you answered affirmatively to any of the above inquiries, I’ve got a challenge for you. Write for the Student Ventures Blog, and I will give you an opportunity unlike any you’ve experienced yet. I am looking for some enthusiastic, active contributors to our blog. As a contributor, your job will be to sniff out all of the intriguing things being done at RPI by visionary students. You might interview teams working in IED or Inventor’s Studio about their methods and ideas. You might cover student-led social movements, such as the push for increased sustainability at our university. You might meet people like the founder of Habitat for Humanity, designers from top design firm IDEO (they designed the Palm V PDA, Macintosh mouse, and countless other innovations), and venture capitalists funding the next round of revolutionary ideas in Silicon Valley. And in the meantime, you’ll most certainly have an amazing experience.
If you are interested in joining the SVB, send us an email at enclub-officers@union.rpi.edu. I lookforward to hearing from you.
